Mike grew up in London, Ontario and is the middle of three brothers. After two years at the University of Western Ontario he travelled to Victoria to visit a friend and never looked back, making Victoria his permanent home during the summer of 1993. After two years of pursuing an Accounting designation, his focus changed to financial planning and he began working towards his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation and landed a job with IG Wealth Management in March of 1996. He’s now been a Financial Consultant with IG for more than half his life.

In early 2004, he was promoted to the Division Director role and managed a team of 14 financial planners, helping them build their practices and was the Compliance Officer for his team. He left the Division Director role in 2007 to focus on growing his practice. With IG, he’s been recognized with multiple awards, both locally and nationally and in April 2019 his team was asked to join the Private Wealth Management division. His favourite part of this business is all of the great clients and colleagues he’s met along the way. There is no monotony as each client is truly unique in their goals and current situation.

In early 2007 he got engaged to Jane and they were married that summer. Jane and Mike have a 14 year old son, Benjamin and a 12 year old daughter, Charlotte. They are both in French immersion school and enjoy active and creative activities outside of school. Mike coaches Ben’s minor hockey team and also coaches Charlotte’s youth soccer team. As a family they enjoy biking, hiking, camping and skiing together.
